Outreach Program
The mission of Outreach is to serve visually impaired students and to assist North Carolina Local Education Agencies (LEAs) by serving visually impaired students enrolled in local schools.
- On-site service delivery through assessments, consultation, paraticipation in IEP development, staff/teacher/parent training
- Support for beginning teachers of the visually impaired
- Assistance setting up clinical low vision and orientation and mobility assessments
How to obtain services:
- Invitation from Director of Exceptional Children's Progran in that LEA
- Signed parental consent to evaluate and parental consent to exchange information
- Copy of IEP/504 plan
- Copy of current ophthalmological report
