2026 GMS Accessible STEM Expo

Build More, Learn More!

Students who are blind or have low vision who attend this free expo will engage in hands-on sessions designed to build their understanding of STEM concepts and what it is like to work in a STEM career. All the fun takes place on the Governor Morehead Campus for the Blind campus located at 301 Ashe Avenue in Raleigh from 9:00 AM – 1:30 PM. Students will have the opportunity to build code, models, designs, chemical reactions, and more while interacting with IT professionals, scientists, accessibility experts, teachers, college students, and other K12 students. Lunch is included.  closes on Friday, March 20, 2026. This event is part of the APH National Coding Symposium and is a Day of Code and Lenovo is a proud sponsor of this event. 2026 Featured Speaker  - Miss Aditi Rao

Aditi Rao is a multifaceted middle schooler with accomplishments spanning STEM, public speaking, music, and art. As a seven-year veteran of FIRST Robotics who has competed internationally, she is deeply passionate about mentoring youth in robotics and public speaking. As a visually impaired TEDx speaker, Aditi has fearlessly shared her personal story and her vision for a more equitable world. Her legal blindness brings a unique drive to champion changes to encourage and empower the visually impaired communities to pursue the various fields of STEM.
