Assessment

TESTING

The Governor Morehead School (GMS) students must participate in all state tests with or without accommodations as outlined by federal and state law. For more information about state testing and accommodations, please refer to the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction’s Accountability Services Division’s Testing Website.

In addition to state-required testing, GMS will also administer the Northwest Education Association’s Measures of Progress® (NWEA MAP®) assessments three times per year. The MAP® tests are designed to get easier or harder as students answer questions resulting in score ranges of the skills and concepts the students understand and those that need to be learned next to achieve proficiency.
