2020 Governor Morehead Summer Program: GMS Summer Horizons
Do you have visually impaired students, friends, or family members who would be interested in spending two weeks refining their expanded core curriculum skills? At the Governor Morehead School, we believe that students learn best and most meaningfully when engaged in relevant, interesting real-life and community-based experiences.
2019-2020 Short-Term Sessions
We are excited to offer eight short-term sessions this year for students (K-12) with visual impairments from all across North Carolina. Students will receive tailored, intensive instruction in the Expanded Core Curriculum (Orientation and Mobility, Assistive Technology, Compensatory Skills, Independent Living Skills, Recreation & Leisure, Visual Efficiency, Career Education, Self-Determination, and Social Interaction Skills). These are skills critical for students with visual impairments due to their unique disability-specific needs. Each session is 5 days. Attached is the application form.
