Dear Parents, Teachers, Staff and Friends,

Welcome to the 2017-2018 School Year! The Governor Morehead School is a school with a rich and evolving history. Our campus is not only a school, but it is a place of learning, partnership and unity for the greater blind community. The Governor Morehead Parent Teacher Association helps to foster this by being involved throughout the year with both school and community events. This means there are a variety of opportunities and ways for YOU to be involved! Consider volunteering at a weekend event or helping to fundraise on your own schedule. Or, attend some of the many athletic, cultural or musical events that are held on campus throughout the year to support OUR students and staff for the great work they do! Follow us on Facebook to learn about the latest happenings and see some great resources for those with visual impairments.

Over the past several years, the Governor Morehead PTA has strengthened its resources to support OUR students and staff by participating in White Cane Day, Teacher Appreciation Week, Eastern Athletic Association for the Blind tournaments, Eastern Music Festival for the Blind activities, Pi Day, 2015 Raleigh Christmas Parade, collaboration with the Wake Young Women's Leadership Academy, educational presentations to PTA members and community events held on campus by a variety of other organizations. We want YOU to be part of the next generation of success for the PTA.

I look forward to YOU joining the Governor Morehead PTA and supporting OUR school, staff, and students with your individual strengths and talents! If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact me at
