Membership

The support of the GMS Families and its community are vital to making the Parent Community Committee’s mission a successful endeavor towards ultimately benefiting our students' growth and achievement.

Join the Parent Community Committee (PCC)! The PCC replaces the old GMS PTA. By joining the PCC, you automatically become part of GMS history as a first of its kind school for the blind that seeks to tie together school, students, families, staff, education and community partners as well as the greater visually impaired community all across the state of North Carolina.

Membership of the PCC shall be open to all staff of the GMS; all students; all parents or guardians, grandparents, and other relatives of students; and any member of the North Carolina community, or any well-wisher and supporter of the objectives of the PCC and willing to uphold its policies and subscribe to its Bylaws, may become a member.

The privileges of membership shall be the right to hold office or appointed position, make motions, chair a committee, and vote. Only those members current in payment of membership dues, are eligible to vote or to serve as an officer or representative of the PCC. Non-members are welcome to attend meetings and may ask questions and participate in discussions as recognized by the President.

Please use the PDF or Cloud-based form to complete your membership application. Currently, we are not requiring a membership fee to join but will gladly accept any generous donation amount you can offer.
